Get to Know Your Photographer-- The Real Me

My loved ones call me "Liv". But who am I? Are we a good match for your wedding or session? Let me show you a bit of who I am.

I remember the exact moment I fell in love with photography. I was 12 years old. And I was in Greece with my family visiting my sister who was studying abroad. My parents had just gotten me a little red point-and-shoot Canon camera. It was night time, and we were by the water. I saw the most beautiful boat shimmering in the moonlight. I took out my camera and snapped. It was like a screensaver image. I had captured what I so badly wanted to remember. It felt AMAZING. From then on, the rest is history. It is so cool to me to be able to freeze a moment-- and to do it in an artistic way? To be able to get creative!? What more could I ask for?

I began asking my friends to model for me, I had taken a liking to capturing people and emotions and feeeeelings. To show someone what they look like through my eyes. To tell a story.

Never did I imagine that photography would take me where it has taken me! (Can you say, Jamaica!?) It has taught me so much about the beauty of life. If you would have told me 5 years ago this would be my full time job, I wouldn't believe you. I started my business-officially- in October of 2022. And it's true, I love my job so much it doesn't feel like work.

So enough about how I started... WHO AM I?!

I'm 28 years old. I was born in Illinois but have just about lived my whole life in Maryland. I have a husband, who doubles as my assistant and second shooter. If you know him, you know he is the life of the party. He is so down to earth and will make your wedding day so fun. I feel so blessed to have such a teammate by my side. We have two dogs, Bean and Ollie. They are our world.

If I had to describe myself in three words, they would be: kind, caring, and a bit of a wildcard. My clients often tell me that I put them at ease in front of the camera, or their session felt like connecting with an old friend. One thing about me, I'm gonna always have a smile on my face. It's like I literally can't help it. I am naturally pretty outgoing but do have a quiet side. I like to listen. When you book your wedding or session with me-- I want you to feel heard, seen, accepted and loved. And I want you to feel beautiful. I'll be your biggest hype woman!

Outside of photography, I am passionate about psychology and mental health. In 2020, I received my B.S. in psychology. I have spent time working with kids with autism and also kids in foster care. I love giving back to my community. I volunteer once a week, feeding the food insecure and I absolutely love it. It brings me such joy to extend a helping hand to a friend. I love to make stuff with my hands and can find myself starting new creative hobbies often. I spend a lot of my (limited) free time studying Spanish. I love to learn anything but I think another language would be awesome to have under my belt. I love music, and if I can I'll use it in our session. I am passionate about family. I'm super close with mine and my husband's. Family is everything. I LOVE-- love. Getting to see so many love stories is one of my favorite things about my job. Can't go without saying, with me, all love is welcome, valid, and safe here. I love love love to travel and have- so far- crossed off 29 countries off my list. I'm also super passionate about mindfulness and yoga. I teach twice a week and love what it brings to my life. Tranquility. Gratitude. And movement.

You are more than just a client to me. I become invested in you and your story. I care deeply about everyone who allows me the privilege to capture them. I could probably bet that after our session, we'll be friends. You should know, I consider it one of the biggest honors in life capturing your BIG special and intimate moments. I am forever thankful for the trust that you put in me and I realize it can be a big decision. I hope this post allows you to see a little bit clearer who I really am.
